Since the Vigo County Public Library is closed to meetings due to COVID-19 concerns, the Wabash Valley Scottish Society (WVSS) is currently meeting the 1st Saturday of each month at Union Baptist Church, 4075 E Harlan Drive, Terre Haute, Indiana.  The Society participates in various events throughout the year. One event is the Founders' Day Picnic, which is held the first Saturday in June in commemoration of the establishment of the WVSS in May 2003. Another event is their annual Christmas Party held the first in December.

In addition the WVSS holds two yard sales and has a raffle each year in order to raise monies for their two Scottish Scholarship funds:

The WVSS is represented each year at various Indiana Scottish events as well. Those events include:

  • The Burns Suppers held in January in Terre Haute, Indiana, honoring the birth of Scotland's Poet Laureate Robert Burns
  • National Tartan Day, held on April 6th, to commemorate the contributions made by Scottish Americans in the founding and shaping of the Unites States.

Note: Normally the WVSS members celebrate Tartan Day following the 1st Saturday meeting in April.
